Description: PRONOI Prevention Centre for Addiction and Psychosocial Health Promotion of the Municipality of Kifissia (Athens-Greece) was founded in 2002 and belongs to the nationwide network of 74 Prevention Centres established by OKANA (National Organization Against Drugs) in cooperation with local authorities and local stakeholders. It is a non profit organization, co-funded by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior. PRONOI develops and implements interventions primarily in the area of drug, alcohol and tobacco universal prevention targeting school students, teachers and parents; furthermore, PRONOI’s activities cover other risky behaviours in view of strengthening psychosocial health promotion. In addition, PRONOI extends its activities to local community groups such as volunteers, local associations, the Armed Forces, etc. It’s one of the few pioneer community services in Greece providing smoking cessation services via psychoeducational groups.
